The positions up for election this year are: Treasurer, Sergeant-at-Arms, Director West, Director East, Director Central, and Director-at-Large Seats A, B, and C. If no candidates have declared for any of the positions they will not appear on the Town Council ballot.
At our upcoming meeting this Thursday, we will welcome the SDPD HOT (Homeless Outreach) Team. They will present facts and figures about our homeless population and how our officers are handling the situation. Also, SDG&E will present on their Pipeline Safety Enhancement Plan, and we will also hear about an upcoming sewer and water main replacement project.
Wanted to send much love and kudos to the best Town Council Board in San Diego for hosting a phenomenal Movies in the Park event on October 18th. This was certainly a community effort too, and the whole event was fun-filled, successful, and folks were clamoring for more! That means we may have to host another Movies in the Park as soon as we communicate with the city's Parks and Rec department -- most likely at the start of the new year.
Clairemont Act One is our community's very own theatre group. The Town Council was proud to be a sponsor of their production "Crimes of the Heart" by Beth Henley, a Pulitzer Prize-winning southern comedy. This was another successful entertainment event for our community. Kudos to the cast, crew, and directors of Clairemont Act One! Finally, our Public Safety Awareness Committee has been hard at work with our friends at Northern Division for San Diego Police Department, and fellow activists in University City to reform and revise much of our community's dormant neighborhood watch programs.
If it's not taggers and graffiti, it's random people stealing packages off doorways. If it's not that, it's homeless camps in the canyons, or suspicious characters casing your house looking to either invade or burglarize your home when you're not there. All kinda scary scenarios in any given circumstance. So, we're working hard to revitalize neighborhood watch for Clairemont to help ensure a safer community.
