Celebrating Our 60th Anniversary with Chili's

This month, Clairemont Town Council proudly turns 60.

Since 1954, Clairemont Town Council has been the voice of our Clairemont community to help support our schools, businesses, community improvement projects, and other issues that have helped shape the character of our community.

All month long, we are excited to celebrate our legacy with Chili's at Clairemont Town Square -- who is donating 15% of event day sales back to our organization, to help support our community grants. In order for this to work, please present this flyer to your server and let them know you're there for Clairemont Town Council.

The more we raise, the more funds we can give back to our community!

For our next Clairemont Town Council meeting, we welcome a presentation from the Family Justice Center, in conjunction with a donation drive for Dress for Success. We will be accepting donations for gently worn -- or new -- professional attire in an effort to help disadvantaged women succeed.

In the spirit of our Dress for Success donation drive, Judy K with Mary Kay has graciously donated a door prize for our Sept. 4, 2014 meeting. Judy's contact info: judykwithmarykay@gmail.com or 858.869.3365.

Remember, all of our CTC members at the meeting receive a ticket for door prizes!

Our meeting is this Thursday, September 4th. Clairemont Town Council general meetings are held at 6:30pm inside the Cadman Elementary cafeteria (4370 Kamloop Avenue, San Diego, CA 92117).

Also, shout out to Beau Monaghan for helping with our LiveStream of our meetings. Thanks to Beau, we are the only community council in the city making an effort to LiveStream these meetings, in case you are unable to attend. It takes a lot of effort to setup the video equipment so that we can provide this service to you, so next time you see Beau, please tell him thank you!

We are still in need of a Garden Tour Chair! We are looking to get started on organizing for next year's tour. The earlier we start getting this organized, the more successful our efforts will be. Can we count on you to step up and help us host a successful tour next May? If you're interested, please e-mail us at Contact@ClairemontOnline.com.

Also, elections for our Board of Directors are coming up! Offices for Treasurer, Sergeant-at-Arms, Director East, Director West, Director Central, and three (3) Director-at-Large positions will be voted on at our November meeting. If you are interested in running, please contact Eden Yaege at Elections@ClairemontOnline.com. Nominations for our Board of Directors will close at the end of our General Meeting on Thursday, October 2nd.

On October 17th, Clairemont's own community theatre group, Clairemont Act One, will be performing "Crimes of the Heart" by Beth Henley. Clairemont Town Council is a proud sponsor of Clairemont Act One and are thrilled to be an ardent supporter of our community arts. For more information about Clairemont Act One, please visit their website: ClairemontActOne.org.

Finally, on October 18th, Clairemont Town Council will be hosting a family-friendly Movie Night in the Park at North Clairemont Park. Movie selection that evening will be the animated hit comedy "Hotel Transylvania." If you would like more information about the event, please contact Steve Innis at Events@ClairemontOnline.com.
Working for you, Clairemont!
